Roma Submit £20 Million Bid to Sign Jadon Sancho Permanently

Mansion Sports - AS Roma have reportedly submitted a formal £20 million ($27 million) offer to secure the permanent signing of Jadon Sancho during the ongoing summer transfer window.

The England winger has long been deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester United and has previously been loaned out to Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea. However, both clubs ultimately declined to make his stay permanent.

According to The Athletic, the Serie A side has now sent an official proposal to acquire Sancho’s services.

The 25-year-old had joined Chelsea last season on a one-year loan deal that included an obligation to buy at the end of the term. Chelsea later opted to cancel the arrangement by paying a penalty fee.

Sancho Among Players Frozen Out at Manchester United

Sancho is currently part of Manchester United’s so-called “bomb squad” — a group of five players informed by head coach Ruben Amorim that they are not in his plans.

Alongside Sancho, the list includes Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Antony.

Rashford has already secured a loan move elsewhere, while Sancho and the remaining three players continue to train at Old Trafford as they search for new clubs.

United Only Considering a Permanent Sale

Reports indicate that Manchester United are only open to a permanent sale of Sancho this summer and have no interest in sanctioning another loan spell.

However, with the transfer deadline approaching, there is growing speculation that the club may reluctantly consider a loan deal if no permanent agreement can be reached.

Negotiations with Roma Yet to Progress

Despite Roma’s official bid, talks between the Italian club and Manchester United are understood to be at an early stage, with no substantial progress made.

Furthermore, there has been no clear indication that Sancho is open to a move to Serie A at this stage, leaving his future uncertain as the transfer window draws to a close.
