Contract Negotiations Between Madrid and Vini Jr Remain Stalled

Mansion Sports - The ongoing contract renewal talks between Real Madrid and their Brazilian winger, Vinicius Junior, have yet to produce any agreement.

Despite prior efforts to finalize a long-term extension, both parties have stalled communication, reportedly due to revised demands from the player's side. This unexpected development has led to a complete pause in negotiations.

With two years still remaining on his current contract, speculation about Vinicius Junior’s future in Madrid has intensified.

As the club’s number 7, he continues to attract significant interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, who are reportedly preparing an extraordinary bid: a €300 million transfer fee paired with a potential contract worth up to €1 billion.

Back in February, Vinicius is believed to have met with officials from Saudi Arabia to hear their proposal firsthand.

However, discussions surrounding his departure quieted in March following reports of a preliminary agreement between the player and Real Madrid regarding a new deal. Nevertheless, that agreement has yet to materialize into a finalized contract.

Vinicius Junior Expresses Clear Desire to Remain at Santiago Bernabéu

According to reports by Diario AS, Vinicius Junior remains fully committed to staying in the Spanish capital. He has not considered leaving the club and has expressed his intent to sign a new contract with Real Madrid.

Currently, the ball is in the club’s court, as the player awaits a formal initiative to resume negotiations. Representatives of Vinicius have made it known that the winger believes he deserves a salary on par with French superstar Kylian Mbappé. However, the club has reportedly shown reluctance to meet such lofty demands.

Real Madrid Keen to Resolve the Matter, But Will Not Be Rushed

Real Madrid’s management is eager to reach a resolution, recognizing Vinicius as an irreplaceable asset in the current transfer market.

However, rumors persist that Club President Florentino Pérez may consider letting the player go if the club succeeds in securing the services of Erling Haaland as a replacement.

In this scenario, Florentino Pérez would play a decisive role in determining the club’s next move. Former Real Madrid defender Rafa Alkorta has weighed in on the situation, warning Vinicius against applying pressure on the president.

“Trying to pressure Florentino Pérez could backfire, just like it did for Sergio Ramos,” Alkorta stated in an interview with Diario Sport.

Vinicius’s Performance Under Scrutiny: Poor Timing for Demands

Alkorta also criticized Vinicius’s recent form, noting that the player has struggled since being moved from his preferred left-wing position.

His on-field chemistry with Kylian Mbappé has also come under question, with the duo yet to find an effective rhythm.

“Since he stopped playing on the left flank, I haven’t seen his best performances. Playing alongside Mbappé appears to be difficult for him, and his advisors should offer better guidance,” Alkorta remarked.

He emphasized that this is not the ideal time for Vinicius to make bold demands, particularly given that his performances have not met expectations over the past season.

An Uncertain Future Awaits

In light of these complex developments, the future of Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid remains highly uncertain. Both the club and the player are currently in a state of limbo—awaiting whether a mutual agreement can still be achieved, or if an eventual separation is inevitable.
