Mansion Sports – The transfer saga surrounding Spanish striker Álvaro Morata has taken another twist, as the player reportedly failed to return to Turkey after his summer break—a clear move intended to pressure Galatasaray into terminating his loan deal from AC Milan. 

Morata appears determined to join newly promoted Serie A side Como and has now taken a bold step to accelerate the move.

Morata Skips Training in a Direct Move to Influence Galatasaray

According to Turkish transfer expert Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, 32-year-old Morata deliberately chose not to report back to Galatasaray’s training sessions after his holiday in Spain. 

The striker’s absence is widely interpreted as a form of protest, aimed at forcing the Istanbul-based club to cancel the ongoing loan agreement that is set to run until January 2026.

This act of defiance represents a new chapter in Morata’s ongoing efforts to secure a return to Italian football.

Personal Agreement with Como Already in Place

Morata has already agreed to personal terms with Como, the Serie A newcomers currently coached by his former Chelsea and Spanish national team teammate, Cesc Fàbregas. 

The player recently expressed his enthusiasm for Como’s ambitious project in public statements, signalling his strong interest in becoming part of the club’s future.

AC Milan, who hold Morata’s registration rights, are reportedly open to transferring him to another Serie A side. 

However, the primary obstacle lies with Galatasaray, who are reluctant to release the forward without receiving adequate compensation.

Galatasaray Insists on Financial Return for Loan Deal

Morata joined Galatasaray in January under a two-year paid loan agreement worth €6 million. The deal also includes a mandatory purchase clause of €8 million at the end of the loan period.

As such, the Turkish club is unwilling to terminate the loan unless they recoup at least the €6 million already invested. 

Some reports even suggest that Galatasaray intends to retain Morata for the current season, especially given Mauro Icardi’s continued absence due to a serious knee injury.

Morata’s Future Remains Uncertain Amid Transfer Deadlock

While Morata’s desire to return to Serie A continues to intensify, Galatasaray’s firm stance on recovering their financial outlay has created a significant impasse. 

Unless a new agreement is reached between AC Milan and Galatasaray, Morata’s prospective move to Como may fall through.

This situation highlights the increasingly complex nature of modern transfers, where negotiations are influenced not only by club-to-club agreements but also by a player’s personal ambitions and career preferences. 

As the summer transfer window nears its conclusion, Morata remains in limbo, his training absence serving as a pressing signal that time is quickly running out.
