Mansion Sports - Manchester United is reportedly considering a major transfer move to acquire Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, as part of the club’s ongoing efforts to strengthen an underperforming forward line. 

The Red Devils are believed to be exploring the possibility of offering the Senegalese international a new chapter in his career, amid growing uncertainty surrounding his future at Stamford Bridge.

Intensifying Competition at Chelsea Spurs Jackson to Reassess His Future

According to The Times, Nicolas Jackson has begun to question his long-term prospects with Chelsea following the club’s recent signings of two additional forwards: Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and Joao Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion. 

These arrivals have significantly intensified the competition in Chelsea’s attacking ranks—an area previously occupied with some consistency by Jackson over the past two seasons.

Since joining the Blues, Jackson has scored 30 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions. 

Despite maintaining a relatively solid level of productivity, his status within the squad now appears to be in jeopardy, as the club seemingly shifts its attacking focus toward newly acquired talent.

This development has attracted interest from several European clubs, including Manchester United, AC Milan, and Aston Villa, who are all reportedly monitoring the situation closely in hopes that Chelsea will entertain offers for the forward at a reasonable valuation.

Manchester United’s Search for a Reliable Striker

The urgency for a dependable striker at Manchester United has grown more acute, given the club's inconsistent output in front of goal. 

Rasmus Højlund has struggled to deliver consistent performances, while Joshua Zirkzee managed only seven goals across 49 appearances during his debut season.

In this context, Jackson’s potential arrival could inject a new dynamic into manager Erik ten Hag’s frontline. His pace, physicality, and eye for goal make him an attractive option to boost United's attacking versatility and depth.

However, the pursuit of Jackson will not be straightforward. Chelsea has reportedly placed a steep asking price of around £100 million (approximately €115.3 million or $133.8 million) on the forward. 

This valuation presents a significant hurdle for United, especially given their recent struggles in negotiating a deal for Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. 

The West London club is believed to be demanding an even higher fee than what United recently paid Wolverhampton Wanderers for Matheus Cunha.

Jackson’s Future at Chelsea Remains Unclear

Jackson's performances in the FIFA Club World Cup failed to solidify his standing within Chelsea's first team. 

He made only three appearances in the tournament, notably receiving a red card against Flamengo and drawing criticism from teammate Cole Palmer for taking a selfish shot rather than passing during the semifinal clash with Fluminense.

As Chelsea transitions under new head coach Enzo Maresca, Jackson faces fierce internal competition from both Delap and Pedro for a starting role. This uncertainty renders the summer of 2025 a pivotal period for both the player and interested suitors.

Whether Manchester United will act decisively to meet Chelsea’s valuation and avoid another stalled transfer saga—as seen in previous negotiations—remains one of the pressing questions of the current transfer window.
