Mansion Sports - Barcelona has reportedly ended its interest in acquiring Liverpool winger Luis Díaz during the current summer transfer window. 

The Catalan club has formally notified Liverpool that it will no longer continue negotiations for the Colombian international, following a surge in Bayern Munich’s efforts to secure the player’s signature. 

This development signals a shift in Barcelona’s transfer strategy and underscores Bayern Munich’s growing determination to bring Díaz to the Bundesliga.

Luis Díaz No Longer a Primary Target for Barcelona

Although Barcelona has not entirely ruled out the possibility of revisiting a move for Luis Díaz in the future, the player is no longer considered a top priority for the club. 

The focus has now shifted toward Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, who is reportedly close to joining Barcelona on a season-long loan.

As negotiations with Rashford have progressed, Barcelona's transfer strategy has realigned to prioritize the English attacker, particularly for reinforcing the left wing. 

This change in focus reflects a pragmatic approach by the Catalan club in addressing its immediate squad needs ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Liverpool Firmly Rejects Bayern Munich’s Offers

From Liverpool’s side, newly appointed manager Arne Slot is adamant about retaining one of his most valuable attacking assets. According to German outlet Bild, the Premier League club has outright rejected two bids from Bayern Munich — the first valued at €52 million and the second at €67.5 million.

Liverpool is reportedly only willing to consider a transfer if the offer meets or exceeds €80 million. Despite reports that Luis Díaz has agreed to personal terms with Bayern Munich — a proposed contract worth €14 million annually through 2029 — no agreement has yet been reached between the clubs.

At present, there is no indication that Liverpool is prepared to soften its stance, leaving Bayern Munich with a critical decision to make as they weigh the risk of escalating their pursuit or redirecting their efforts elsewhere.

Bayern’s Potential Withdrawal Could Reopen the Door for Barcelona

The situation surrounding Luis Díaz remains fluid. While Bayern Munich continues to press for a deal, their aggressive approach may be undermining their negotiating position. 

With Liverpool maintaining firm control over the situation, the German club’s leverage is currently limited.
