AC Milan Finalizes Deal with Brighton to Sign Pervis Estupiñán
Mansion Sports - AC Milan has officially reached an agreement with Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion for the transfer of Ecuadorian left-back Pervis Estupiñán.
The deal, now disclosed in more detail, carries a base transfer fee of €17 million, with an additional €2 million in performance-based add-ons, bringing the total potential value to €19 million.
Transfer Fee Breakdown and Agent's Key Role in Negotiations
Previous reports had already suggested that both clubs had agreed in principle, with only minor technicalities left to finalize.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the base fee of the transfer stands at €17 million, supplemented by €2 million in variable clauses.
Initial expectations estimated the total deal to remain under the €20 million mark, and the final figures are aligned with those projections.
It is understood that Estupiñán was highly motivated to join the Rossoneri, while his agent, Jorge Mendes, played a pivotal role in the negotiations, working diligently over recent days to secure a favorable outcome for all parties involved.

Estupiñán Poised to Succeed Theo Hernández
Estupiñán’s move to Milan represents a significant step forward in his professional journey and simultaneously addresses a key tactical need for the club following Theo Hernández’s transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
Estupiñán is set to assume the starting left-back position under head coach Stefano Pioli, with expectations high for his impact on the squad.
The 26-year-old defender initially joined Brighton from Villarreal in the summer of 2022 for a fee of approximately €17.8 million.
Therefore, his transfer to Milan comes at a slightly lower figure compared to his original purchase price.
Nevertheless, the move is considered a competitive acquisition given his experience in both the Premier League and international competitions.
Performance Highlights from the 2023–2024 Season
During the 2023–2024 campaign, Estupiñán made 36 appearances across all competitions for Brighton. He scored one goal and provided one assist from the left side of defense.
Despite Brighton enduring a season marked by inconsistency, Estupiñán remained one of the key contributors in Roberto De Zerbi’s squad, consistently demonstrating his value on the pitch.
Milan had initially submitted a €15 million bid, which was promptly rejected by Brighton. The Serie A side then returned with an improved offer, which ultimately met Brighton’s valuation and sealed the deal.
Reinforcement for the 2024–2025 Season
With the completion of this transfer, Milan has secured a vital reinforcement for its defensive unit, addressing the void left by Hernández’s departure.
Estupiñán is expected to bring balance, pace, and international experience to the Rossoneri’s backline, qualities that will be essential as the club prepares to compete on multiple fronts during the 2024–2025 season.
